GSTA Participates in Department of Tourism 2011 Musikultura Project

GSTA trainers and trainees participated in the Department of Tourism's (DOT) 2011 Musikultura Project on June 17, 2011 held at Rizal Park, Manila. As part of the day's program, GSTA trainers gave series of lectures to OFWs recommended by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Chef Raul Tamayo on demonstrated baking and decorating cakes; Ms. Sandra De Leon and Ms. Susan Tan provided lecture on Food & Beverage service; Ms. Avema Silva provided insights on Customer Care including Personality Development; while Mr. IƱigo Nebrida demonstrated creative towel folding.
The activity was in line with the DOT's and OWWA's objective to encourage OFWs, especially those who have been displaced from the Middle East to enhance their skills through training. The event was graced by different DOT executives such as Usec. Ma. Victoria Jasmin and top government officials such as Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and other VIP's from the private sector.
The event also became a learning venue for GSTA students to witness tourism-related activities and to visit significant historical places in Manila as part of their tourism and hospitality appreciation and immersion.
